Manager, International Tax
Role description
From the employerThis position is responsible for supporting the Paloma US Investments, Inc. and
Subsidiaries’ (“Rheem” or the “Company”) global tax strategy, compliance,
reporting, and planning initiates. This role will partner with finance and
accounting, legal, treasury, and foreign business teams to ensure compliance
with U.S. international tax requirements and to identify tax-efficient
opportunities across the global organization. This position will also be
responsible for the various research projects and assisting with integration of
acquired businesses into the tax processes. The Manager, International Tax is
expected to have regular contact with Foreign Division and Subsidiary
Controllers’ staff regarding tax compliance issues. The ideal candidate is a
proactive, hands-on tax professional with strong technical knowledge of U.S.
international tax rules and experience working in a multinational corporate
environment.
This position will serve Rheem North America, located in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid).
This role follows our hybrid work arrangement, with team members working in the
office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, research, interpret, document, and apply tax law or advise tax
management of the impact on the business.
- Manage, prepare and/or review U.S. international tax compliance, including
calculations and reporting related to
- Net CFC Tested Income (GILTI and/or NCTI)
- Subpart F income
- Foreign-Derived Deduction-Eligible Income (FDII and/or FDDEI)
- Based Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax
- Foreign tax credits
- E&P and tax basis
- Previously Taxed Earnings and Profits (PTEP)
- Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, and related international information returns
- Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts
- Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure
accurate and timely filings of Country-by-Country Reporting, Master File, and
Pillar 2.
- Manage and review the foreign tax provision analysis and assure that all
foreign tax related matters are disclosed in accordance with ASC 740 in the
Company's financial statements and/or the financial statements of the
Company’s owner as needed.
- Assist in the review of tax related issues and opportunities associated with
acquisitions and the integration of acquired companies into Company’s tax
structure.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies, processes,
and special projects as assigned including intercompany transactions and
transfer pricing.
- Analyze Rheem’s international transactions and assure that all necessary
compliance requirements are accurately reported in the Company’s federal and
state income tax returns.
- Supervise, develop, and mentor a team to assist with responsibilities as
needed and available.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate and/or Master’s Degree in accounting
- CPA certification
- 6 to 9 years of public accounting experience at a Big 4 national firm
- Income Tax Compliance and ASC 740 experience
- International tax experience including experience preparing and/or reviewing
and reporting international based calculations such as NCTI inclusions.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to consistently meet compliance
deadlines
- Experience managing multiple projects, multi-tasking, and balancing
priorities
- Supervisory experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Power Point and Word
- Experience in responding to taxing jurisdiction inquiries and resolve issues
with minimal supervision.
- OneSource experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to compose responses to taxing jurisdictions in a clear and concise
manner
- Ability to understand and interpret income tax laws and regulations and
determine their effects upon the Company’s liability
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and division accounting
groups and effectively respond to tax related questions
- Ability to accurately calculate tax liabilities and percentages
- Ability to create formulas to calculate sums and percentages
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and apply them to the
determination of tax liabilities
- Ability to understand tax laws and regulations and apply them in determining
federal, state and local income tax filing requirements and liabilities
