SUMMARY

  • This position works in partnership with outside professional firms in managing
  • both day to day and period oversight of all governmental taxes, insurance
  • matters and daily banking activities. This role requires the highest level of of
  • integrity and confidentiality ensuring the Company is in compliance with its
  • legal obligations with regard to specified tax & insurance documents. Position
  • manages one full-time and one part-time associate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business

Administration, Insurance and/or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience with Multi-State and Federal taxes,

multi-state business insurance, and contract administration.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Access & Word
  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, work within assigned deadlines, and work independently

or collaboratively to accomplish organizational objectives.

  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and ethical

standards in all Company dealings on a daily basis and ability to foster

strong, open lines of communication across all levels of the organization.

  • Expertise and understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting

Principles), Internal Revenue Code, and state tax compliance.

Preferred

  • Supervisory experience
  • CPA certification and tax experience
  • Familiarity with tax planning and experience in tax compliance and regulatory

reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversee daily banking activities and tax compliance for multiple taxing

states and jurisdictions.

  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge base for laws pertaining to

Federal and State taxes to appropriately perform job functions.

  • Responsible for assisting outside tax advisors with preparation of year-end

tax reporting (including 1099’s).

  • Complete and submit other permits and licenses (i.e. Casino applications) and

renewals for State, City, and Tribal Casino Licensing in a timely manner.

  • Report litigation for claims covered by insurance and with direction from

senior management.

  • Summarize company requirements and track/ calculate State and Local Tax

Incentive Agreements.

  • Oversee compliance with local and state licensing agencies.
  • Responsible for the overall management of certificate of insurance

maintenance.

  • Manage, train and develop direct reports to enhance their career development.
