What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute risk assessments of Export Control and Trade compliance

programs to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with in-region Business Divisions, Compliance teams, and Legal

teams to provide strategic and operational support for global trade

management at Caterpillar

  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of Export Control and

Trade compliance policies and procedures

  • Provide training on government laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to

organizational products, services and technologies

  • Proactively monitor, manage and mitigate risks through stakeholders, business

partner engagement.

  • Assist with development and implementation of compliance strategies and goals

in line with company's business objectives

  • Effectively communicate insights, progress, and recommendations across the

organization as needed

What You Will Bring

  • International Trade: Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices

and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge

appropriately in diverse situations.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship and stakeholder management

techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships

with various stakeholders, peers within the division and across Caterpillar

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective

analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and

create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing,

anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems;

ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse

situations.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding effective communication concepts,

tools, and techniques and the ability to collaborate vertically and

horizontally, across levels and various business functions, and with external

parties

Top Candidates Will Have

  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience with trade compliance or a related field
  • Demonstrated business partnering, advocacy, and acumen with strong

intellectual curiosity

  • Development and/or management of trade compliance processes
  • Experience building, implementing, or enhancing compliance programs and

operational controls in a multi-national business environment

  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and build trust with stakeholders at all

organizational levels

  • Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and develops innovative solutions

to complex regulatory challenges
