**Tax Manager, Real Estate Tax**

**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced **Tax Manager, Real Estate Tax** to lead tax compliance, consulting, and client advisory engagements for real estate clients. This role is ideal for a CPA with a strong public accounting background who excels in tax planning, technical research, client relationship management, and team leadership. The Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, mentor staff, and contribute to business development while delivering exceptional client service and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and review complex individual, partnership, corporation, S corporation, trust, and other business tax returns for real estate clients.
  • Provide strategic tax planning, tax consulting, and compliance services while identifying opportunities to optimize tax positions.
  • Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax issues, and communicate technical guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client relationships, delivering proactive advisory services and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and manage engagement planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project execution to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Communicate with federal and state taxing authorities regarding audits, notices, and tax-related inquiries.
  • Mentor, train, and develop tax professionals through coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support complex client engagements and provide integrated tax solutions.
  • Identify business development opportunities, strengthen existing client relationships, and support growth initiatives within the tax practice.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax legislation, regulatory changes, and real estate industry trends.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of recent public accounting experience with significant expertise in real estate tax compliance and consulting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws affecting real estate entities and investors.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns for individuals and business entities.
  • Proven expertise in tax research, tax planning, and resolving complex tax matters.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and staff development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
  • Proficiency with tax software, Microsoft Office applications, and paperless accounting environments.

**Desired Qualifications:**

  • Master of Science in Taxation (MST) or related advanced degree.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional client-facing and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting business development initiatives and expanding client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
