About The Role
FTI Consulting is seeking a Senior Director to join our growing Transactions Tax team. Our Transactions Tax team is aligned with FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring organization. We focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional opportunities faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders.
With teams based in North America and the United Kingdom and Dubai, our Transactions Tax team is situated to advise domestic and multinational businesses on a variety of tax matters ranging from tax transaction support to best practice process implementation and structuring. FTI Consulting provides client-centric tax advisory services focused on mitigating tax risk and minimizing cost.
You will also work with and learn from our senior management team who are leaders in their field and qualified in accounting, tax, law and real estate surveying. Our team also includes valuations and technology experts and economists.
What You’ll Do
- As a Senior Director on the Transactions Tax team within our Transactions Services practice, you will work closely with the team to deliver excellent client service. This Director will collaborate with internal project teams to:
- Assist our private equity and corporate clients with tax due diligence, tax structuring, and tax modeling on buy-side and sell-side transactions
- Prepare tax due diligence reports for C-suite audience
- Direct complex tax research and formulate tax planning strategies
- Apply and interpret U.S. federal income tax law as it relates to tax due diligence and advisory including Subchapter C, Subchapter K, Subchapter S, consolidated groups, tax accounting methods, taxable and non-taxable transactions, and tax attributes
- Review and comment on purchase agreement and disclosure schedules
- Assist in advising clients by identifying post-closing opportunities and services
- Provide direction to maintain communication with clients and staff members on engagements, while updating senior team members on progress and issues

Our Transactions Tax team provides corporate and private equity clients with a broad continuum of tax advisory services to support mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives and post-transaction activities. Collaborating with clients in all stages of the deal life cycle, you will work with clients across corporate functions such as finance, treasury, human resources, operations, information technology and risk management to analyze and evaluate the tax profile and to implement planning designed to help meet each organization’s global goals, strategies and business objectives.
What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
- 7+ years of post-graduate combined professional experience
- Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s)
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Preferred Qualifications
- MS, JD and/or CPA
- 7+ years of U.S. federal income tax experience
- Mergers and acquisitions tax experience
- Experience with tax research and the ability to analyze and apply rules in a broad range of tax areas and issues
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and full MS Office suite

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $154,500
Maximum Pay: $302,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
