Join us as a Senior General Ledger Accounting and Tax

Are you ready to shape the future of capital markets? We are looking for a Senior General Ledger Accounting and Tax Specialist to join the Finance team. This is a fixed-term contract. The position will be based in Porto and you will report to the Accounting Manager.

**You will primarily be responsible for:**

  • Managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end/year-end close processes
  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations
  • Coordinating statutory audits and liaising with external auditors and tax authorities
  • Analysing financial data and preparing financial statements and management reports
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Advising on tax implications of business decisions and supporting tax planning initiatives

**Your profile:**

  • Strong technical skills in accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP), tax compliance and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset
  • Minimum five years of experience in accounting and tax roles, preferably in an international environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is a plus
  • Fluent in English
