Following our recent merger with the Playlist group, we are rapidly expanding our global footprint and scaling our internal capabilities in anticipation of an IPO. As we integrate our operations, our tax team is taking on full responsibility for the indirect tax landscape of both EGYM and the wider Playlist group across Europe. This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to shape, automate, and scale a modern indirect tax function from the ground up during a period of massive corporate growth. Your daily workout

Take Ownership: You take full responsibility for supporting our domestic and foreign companies in the field of indirect taxes in both national and international contexts

Process Innovation: You design, optimize, and automate VAT processes, acting as a core business partner for internal departments to drive digitalization

Compliance Control: You develop and implement robust Tax Compliance Management Systems (TCMS) in the area of VAT to manage filings

Future-Proofing: You ensure EGYM and the Playlist group are fully prepared for upcoming ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) regulations and worldwide digital reporting requirements

Operational Excellence: You independently answer operational queries, coordinate complex issues with external tax experts, and support foreign VAT registrations

Audit & Authority Management: You support tax audits and manage direct communication with tax authorities regarding VAT matters

Strategic Oversight: You monitor legislative changes in European and global VAT law, deriving corresponding strategic measures and risk mitigations in collaboration with the Head of Tax

Fulfillment: You participate in the execution and fulfillment of VAT declaration obligations in Germany and abroad

Knowledge Sharing: You train internal stakeholders on VAT topics, system updates, and new automated processes

Your fitness level

Proven Track Record: You bring at least 5 years of experience in an indirect tax or VAT role, with a strong background in managing international VAT projects across multiple European countries

Tech & Automation Savvy: You possess deep knowledge of modern tax compliance systems and a genuine passion for process automation and digitalization

Strategic & Operational Balance: You have the ability to seamlessly switch between hands-on VAT declaration tasks and high-level strategic planning (like ViDA readiness)

Strong Communicator: You have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively train internal stakeholders and act as a trusted business partner across departments

Adaptable & Resilient: You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoy navigating the complexities of a post-merger integration

Language Skills: You are fluent in our corporate language English ideally with proficiency in German or other European languages as a strong asset

Your training goal for your first 6 months

Discovery & Alignment: You get completely to grips with the various business units across EGYM and the newly merged Playlist group while seamlessly managing day-to-day business queries

Optimization & Control: You review current VAT compliance processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and establishing adequate internal controls

Project Leadership: You take over the oversight of external advisors supporting the Playlist group to successfully implement the multi-purpose voucher regime
