**About the Role**

**Melbourne | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Potential for Extension)**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our ANZ Finance team in Melbourne on an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential for extension.

As Senior Tax Accountant, you'll be responsible for supporting the preparation and delivery of ANZ tax compliance activities, tax effect accounting and tax reporting requirements.

You'll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across corporate taxation, tax consolidation, transfer pricing and tax risk management, while providing insights and advice that support sound business decisions.

This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of tax matters, including Australian and New Zealand projects, statutory reporting and engagement with senior stakeholders.

**Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:**

  • Support the preparation and lodgement of income tax returns and statutory tax documentation for ANZ entities.
  • Prepare tax calculations, tax payments and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Support tax effect accounting processes, including preparation of tax entries, consolidations and tax disclosures for statutory and internal reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax information for Group reporting requirements.
  • Support the annual R&D Tax Incentive claim process.
  • Provide technical tax analysis and advice on Australian and New Zealand business activities and projects.
  • Assist with tax risk management activities and ensure compliance with Group Tax Policies and procedures.
  • Support responses to tax authority queries and liaise with external advisors and auditors.
  • Assist with transfer pricing analysis and information requests.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes, policies and controls.

**About You**

You are a technically capable tax professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and applying your expertise to complex business challenges.

**You'll bring:**

  • Accounting and/or Finance qualifications
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • 5–6+ years' experience in corporate tax, ideally gained within a large corporate environment or professional services firm.
  • Strong experience across corporate income tax matters, including tax consolidation, foreign tax offsets and complex tax issues.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing tax effect accounting entries, disclosures and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex tax and financial information.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong capability across Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
