Position Purpose The position provides critical support to the Family Office by preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and supporting workpapers for a complex group of family entities, trusts, and individuals. The position reports to the Vice President of Finance & Accounting and serves as a key technical resource within the department. This role is designed for a professional seeking to grow into leadership.

Key Accountabilities Accounting & Financial Reporting: Maintain and review general ledger activity, journal entries, accounts payable, and bank and investment reconciliations across multiple entities Review financial statements and supporting schedules; prepare as needed Present or co-present quarterly financial results to leadership Perform and review cash and financial analysis Manage daily movement of cash Prepare loan amortization schedules Support the annual budgeting process Identify and implement process improvements, controls, and documentation standards Tax: Prepare and review in-house tax workpapers, returns, and tax basis calculations for partnerships, trusts, and individuals Review returns and workpapers prepared by external advisors and staff, identifying issues and recommending changes Oversee other tax filings such as 1099s, excise and sales & use returns, Secretary of State filings, and quarterly estimates Research, draft, and manage responses to tax notices and taxing authority inquiries Coordinate with outside CPA firms, attorneys, and advisors on compliance timelines and deliverables Planning & Advisory Support: Assist with building financial models that support transactions and family decisions Support estate, gift, trust and income tax planning through modeling, projections and technical research Partner with investment managers, trustees, and outside legal counsel on planning and transaction matters Other: Assist in maintaining filing system Assist with administration of CCH Document Suite, Emburse, and Corporate Credit Cards Interface with Pohlad Family members, household staff, and internal and external relationships on numerous matters Assist with keeping minute books up to date Assist with appraisal information Assist with investment documents and execution Assist with business and personal insurance matters Assist with human resources and benefits documents and execution Lead or support special projects, as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities – No direct reports initially.

Provides day-to-day guidance, training, and first-level review of work performed by staff accountants and outside service providers. Expected to develop toward formal supervisory responsibilities as the department evolves and grows. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Flexible, team oriented, and a contributor to an enjoyable, fun workplace Possess a strong aptitude and desire to learn Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with family members, leadership, and outside advisors Strong attention to detail Demonstrated experience reviewing work prepared by others Strong technical knowledge of partnership, trust, and individual taxation Ability to mentor, train, and provide constructive feedback to others Sound judgment in handling confidential family and business matters Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Acumatica (ERP), Fixed Asset Manager, and CCH Document Suite is a plus Willingness to learn new software and technology, including automation and AI tools Education and Experience Four-year accounting degree required Minimum of 4 years’ related work experience, including public accounting and/or family office experience with partnership, trust, and individual tax compliance CPA license preferred Experience reviewing the work of others or supervising staff preferred At Pohlad Companies, we offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which reflects our commitment to supporting the health, financial stability, and overall well-being of our employees.
