We work collaboratively. We are relentless in our process and put attention to detail first. We are seeking a Senior Tax Associate to support the tax function for a growing alternative asset manager focused on energy investments.

experience

with partnership taxation and investment fund structures, particularly joint venture arrangements, and is comfortable navigating the complexities of multi-entity investment vehicles. This role will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, reviewing partnership allocations, coordinating with external tax advisors, supporting investor tax reporting (including Schedule K-1s), and assisting with tax planning initiatives across fund and management company entities.

working within an asset manager, private equity firm, or investment platform with exposure to energy-focused investments and joint venture structures. Responsibilities: Assist in overall management of joint ventures in Oil & Gas Support portfolio company activities Transaction support Return review Ad hoc analysis Forecasts of taxable income and tax holdbacks on distributions Coordinate activities of outsourced tax compliance function Partnership returns and K1 packages Corporate returns and Earnings and Profits calculations Quarterly estimate, extension and return payments Internal Reporting Compile and maintain fund statistical analysis Maintain and develop tax dashboard Investor Relations Support Respond to tax related queries Due diligence questionnaires Qualifications: Three or more years of Big 4 public accounting tax experience, Oil & Gas industry, or a combination of both Must have working knowledge of Oil & Gas-specific tax issues at the operating company level including depletion, recapture and IDCs Comfortable multi-tasking in a small team environment Willing to network and communicate across disciplines from deal teams and portfolio company CFOs to accounting, investor relations and treasury Microsoft Excel with exposure to pivot tables and working with large data sets Demonstrated willingness to adopt and leverage AI tools Salary Range At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices.

The compensation range for this position is $102,000 - $153,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
