**Location:** Hybrid opportunity based in San Diego, California, offering a flexible combination of in-office collaboration and remote work.

**Note:** Applicants should have 6+ years of tax law experience. California Bar admission is preferred, but attorneys licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction who are eligible for reciprocity will be considered.

**Job Description**

  • Lead sophisticated federal and California tax controversy matters.
  • Represent clients before the IRS, FTB, CDTFA, and other taxing authorities.
  • Manage audits, examinations, administrative appeals, and tax litigation matters.
  • Handle collections matters including Offers in Compromise, installment agreements, and Collection Due Process hearings.
  • Advise clients on tax planning, business structuring, entity formation, and complex transactions.
  • Develop legal strategies for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
  • Draft legal memoranda, settlement proposals, pleadings, and client communications.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for client relationships and strategic planning.
  • Mentor and develop junior attorneys while collaborating with firm leadership.
  • Contribute to business development and continued growth of the practice.

**Qualifications**

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • **6+ years of tax law experience.**
  • Extensive experience handling federal and/or state tax controversy matters.
  • Strong background in tax planning and client counseling.
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage sophisticated tax matters.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • California Bar admission preferred.
