**Location:** Hybrid opportunity based in San Diego, California, offering a flexible combination of in-office collaboration and remote work.
**Note:** Applicants should have 6+ years of tax law experience. California Bar admission is preferred, but attorneys licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction who are eligible for reciprocity will be considered.

**Job Description**
- Lead sophisticated federal and California tax controversy matters.
- Represent clients before the IRS, FTB, CDTFA, and other taxing authorities.
- Manage audits, examinations, administrative appeals, and tax litigation matters.
- Handle collections matters including Offers in Compromise, installment agreements, and Collection Due Process hearings.
- Advise clients on tax planning, business structuring, entity formation, and complex transactions.
- Develop legal strategies for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
- Draft legal memoranda, settlement proposals, pleadings, and client communications.
- Serve as the primary advisor for client relationships and strategic planning.
- Mentor and develop junior attorneys while collaborating with firm leadership.
- Contribute to business development and continued growth of the practice.
**Qualifications**
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- **6+ years of tax law experience.**
- Extensive experience handling federal and/or state tax controversy matters.
- Strong background in tax planning and client counseling.
- Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to independently manage sophisticated tax matters.
- Outstanding interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- California Bar admission preferred.
