**About the Role:**
We are seeking an experienced **Senior Tax Manager, Real Estate Tax** to provide strategic leadership for complex tax compliance, consulting, and advisory engagements serving real estate clients. This senior leadership role is responsible for managing key client relationships, overseeing multiple engagement teams, providing technical tax expertise, driving business development initiatives, and mentoring tax professionals. The ideal candidate is a CPA with extensive public accounting experience, deep knowledge of real estate taxation, and a proven ability to deliver exceptional client service while contributing to the growth and success of the tax practice.
**Responsibilities:**
- Lead and oversee complex tax compliance, tax planning, and consulting engagements for real estate developers, investors, partnerships, corporations, LLCs, REITs, and high net worth individuals.
- Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery.
- Serve as the primary trusted advisor for client relationships by providing strategic tax planning, risk management, and business advisory services.
- Research and interpret complex tax legislation, regulations, and emerging tax issues affecting the real estate industry.
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, including engagement planning, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and overall project execution.
- Represent clients in communications with federal and state taxing authorities regarding audits, notices, and tax matters.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to managers, seniors, and staff while fostering professional development through coaching and mentoring.
- Identify opportunities to improve client tax strategies, maximize tax efficiencies, and deliver value-added consulting services.
- Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships, identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in networking activities.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to enhance tax processes, improve operational efficiencies, and support continued practice growth.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Minimum of 8 or more years of progressive public accounting experience with significant expertise in real estate tax compliance, consulting, and advisory services.
- Extensive experience reviewing complex partnership, corporation, S corporation, trust, and individual tax returns.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws affecting real estate entities and investors.
- Demonstrated expertise in tax research, tax planning, and resolving complex tax issues.
- Proven experience managing multiple client engagements while consistently meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Strong leadership, project management, and team development experience with a track record of mentoring high-performing professionals.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills with executive-level clients.
- Advanced proficiency with tax software, Microsoft Office applications, and paperless accounting environments.
**Desired Qualifications:**
- Master of Science in Taxation (MST) or related advanced degree.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Established business development experience with a history of expanding client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to advise owners, executives, and high net worth clients on complex tax matters.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives and implementing best practices within a public accounting tax practice.
