Position Overview
Accudata & Co. is part of an established, multi-state tax advisory firm with offices throughout California and Hawaii. We specialize in serving high-net-worth individuals with complex business, trust, and individual tax needs. Our firm has experienced significant growth, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our leadership team.
As a CPA Tax Manager, you will serve in a leadership capacity within our tax practice. Your responsibilities will include managing and reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and multi-state tax returns; supervising staff; overseeing engagement workflows; and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. You will also provide technical guidance, research tax issues, maintain client relationships, participate in tax planning engagements, and support team mentorship initiatives as needed.
Accudata & Co. has been a respected tax advisory service in Orange County for over a generation. This office is part of a larger tax advisory group with offices in San Diego, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach (coming soon) and Honolulu, HI. We are actively building our leadership team and significant growth opportunities exist for anyone entering at this level during this early stage of building our team.
Pay Range: $150,000 – $180,000 total compensation (annual base pay + bonus), depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and location. Relocation stipend available if needed.
Responsibilities
- Technical review of individual, corporate, fiduciary, partnership, and multi-state tax returns
- Manage and supervise tax staff and senior associates; provide mentorship and performance feedback
Research complex tax issues and provide actionable guidance to clients
Prepare tax projections and develop tax planning strategies
Review tax information supplied by clients; communicate directly with clients to address questions and deliver recommendations
Oversee engagement workflows and ensure timely, accurate completion of all deliverables
Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise
Collaborate with partners on client management, practice development, and business development activities
Assist with financial statement compilations as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Active CPA license required
Master's in Taxation a plus
Minimum 5+ years of public accounting experience
Tax manager experience
Strong technical and analytical skills in federal and California state tax compliance
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and tax software (Lacerte a plus)
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Team player with a positive attitude and high ethical standards
Ability to work extended hours during peak tax seasons
