Accountabilities
The Senior Tax Specialist will support tax-related operational activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective service delivery across business processes. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Support daily activities related to Qualified Intermediary (QI), FATCA, and CRS reporting requirements.
Execute investment operations processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory controls, policies, and operational guidelines.
Review, validate, and reconcile documentation and data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Analyze tax-related information, identify issues, and provide recommendations or escalate complex matters when required.
Support internal stakeholders and external customers by responding to inquiries and providing accurate guidance.
Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and operational tracking materials.
Monitor performance indicators and address operational issues to maintain service quality.
Provide input into process improvements, procedure updates, and operational enhancements.
Participate in the planning, testing, and implementation of new processes, systems, and service improvements.
Support change management activities by helping teams adopt updated procedures and tools.
Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and operational risks to ensure business integrity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and service delivery expectations.
Support the creation of training materials and tools focused on improving business outcomes.
Act as a resource for colleagues by sharing knowledge and supporting problem resolution.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with experience in tax operations, financial services, compliance, or related areas. The role requires strong analytical skills, regulatory awareness, and the ability to manage priorities independently while collaborating with stakeholders.
3+ years of relevant professional experience in tax operations, financial services, investment operations, compliance, or a related field.
Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Qualified Intermediary (QI), FATCA, and CRS requirements is an asset.
Strong understanding of business processes, operational controls, and regulatory requirements.
Experience working with business systems and technology tools used for operational processing and reporting.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently.
Customer service mindset with attention to accuracy and quality.
Ability to adapt to changing processes, systems, and business requirements.
