Position Summary
The Tariff Analyst I supports the administration, maintenance, and implementation of pipeline tariffs and related system data to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability. This role is responsible for entering and maintaining tariff rates and information in CTS, supporting tariff filings and documentation, and assisting with VMACS project testing tied to new rates and infrastructure.
Working closely with Commercial, Accounting, and other internal stakeholders, the position helps ensure tariff records, agreements, and system data are aligned with a strong focus on accuracy, detail, and internal controls. This is an entry-level role with opportunity for growth into advanced analytical and commercial positions.
Responsibilities
Support preparation, review, and filing of tariffs with FERC and state regulatory agencies Entry of tariff rates and information in CTS, which is Plains’ internal system for scheduling and accounting Stakeholder role for VMACS test projects to ensure tariff and agreement alignment for new tariff rates and infrastructure that will be entered into CTS Maintain tariff records, filing logs, and electronic documentation Assist with regulatory
responsibilities
for maintaining tariff files, subscriber lists and website posting Review commercial agreements and extract tariff-related provisions Perform basic tariff analysis and support internal inquiries Ensure alignment between tariff documents and CTS as well as compliance with applicable tariff regulations and internal controls
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required 0–2 years of relevant
experience
preferred (energy or regulatory
experience
a plus) Strong analytical and problem-solving
skills
High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication and collaboration
skills
