**Job Description:**

**Role Summary**

The Tax Accountant 2 supports the organization's global tax function from Manila, by preparing and maintaining a broad portfolio of tax compliance, tax accounting, reporting, and operational deliverables across multiple jurisdictions. The role is primarily preparation-focused, completing first-pass calculations, reconciliations, filings, and supporting documentation that are reviewed by senior tax professionals while also taking ownership of recurring compliance activities, tax calendars, payment processes, and reporting requirements.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, effective deadline management across a diverse tax calendar, and the ability to coordinate with finance, treasury, and external advisors, and tax stakeholders. The Tax Accountant 2 helps ensure tax obligations are met accurately and timely while maintaining complete, organized, and audit-ready tax records and workpapers.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting**

  • Prepare and support tax registrations, renewals, and maintenance of tax accounts with relevant authorities.
  • Maintain the global tax calendar to track filing, reporting, and payment deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit recurring indirect tax, withholding tax, and other compliance filings.
  • Support tax compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions, including preparation of required supporting documentation.
  • Respond to routine tax authority inquiries and requests for information.
  • Assist with annual reporting and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, standardization, and process efficiency.

**Indirect Tax**

  • Prepare indirect tax returns, calculations, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
  • Maintain tax rates, taxability matrices, and supporting compliance data.
  • Support business licensing and registration requirements where applicable.
  • Maintain exemption certificates and related supporting documentation.
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance reviews and assessments.

**Withholding Tax**

  • Process and track withholding tax payments and deposits.
  • Monitor withholding tax receivables and related balances.
  • Cross-function coordination for oversight on tracking the receipt and collection of withholding tax certificates and supporting documentation.
  • Support reconciliation of withholding tax accounts and filings.

**Tax Provision & Transfer Pricing**

  • Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision workpapers.
  • Support tax accounting and reporting processes during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
  • Respond to requests for provision-related information and documentation.
  • Prepare transfer pricing calculations and supporting analyses.

**Tax Accounting & Reconciliations**

  • Prepare tax account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and supporting schedules.
  • Support tax-related journal entries and accounting processes.
  • Assist with fixed asset and other tax-sensitive accounting activities.
  • Ensure tax balances are properly supported and documented.

**Audits, Controversy & Tax Payments**

  • Support tax audits, reviews, and examinations by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
  • Monitor ongoing tax matters, assessments, and dispute-related activities.
  • Prepare and process tax payment requests.
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external compliance information requests.
  • Assist with remediation and follow-up activities arising from audits or regulatory reviews.

**Qualifications Required**

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2–4 years of relevant tax and/or accounting experience, ideally within a shared services center, BPO, professional services firm, or multinational company.
  • Foundational knowledge of tax compliance, tax accounting, and reporting processes. Solid understanding of general accounting principles, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders.

**Preferred**

  • CPA license or CPA candidate.
  • Exposure to indirect tax, corporate income tax, withholding tax, or international tax compliance.
  • Experience with supporting tax provision and/or transfer pricing processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and tax technology platforms (e.g., OneSource, Vertex, Avalara).
  • Experience supporting tax audits, compliance reviews, or tax workflow systems.
