
Tax Accountant - South Towns

Our client, an established CPA firm
in the South Towns of WNY, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone
who is seeking growth opportunities and longevity. The firm is open to CPA
candidates and is willing to pay for the employee to study and sit for the
exam. You do not need to bring or develop a book of business, as the company
has enough business for someone joining them.
- Perform daily
tax accounting responsibilities for clients
- Prepare and
review various tax returns for corporate, individual, and partnership
clients
- Gather
information during in-person meetings and via phone calls from clients in
order to file detailed and complete returns
- Offer
clients educated advice on IRA/retirement strategies, tax planning
guidance, etc.
- Create
lasting and trusting relationships with clients in order to provide
tailored approaches
- Maintain
open lines of communication with clients
- Conduct
research into any tax issues to ensure timely resolution and accurate
returns are completed
- Remain up to
date with tax regulations as well as local, state, and federal laws to
ensure compliance is maintained at all times
- Take a
proactive approach to completing special projects in a timely manner and
ahead of deadlines
- Collaborate
with internal team members to support the overall growth of the firm
- Participate
in various training initiatives
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
- Position is full-time, direct hire
- Hybrid
schedule: 2 days in-office, 3 WFH; Fridays off in the summer
- $65,000 - $95,000 annually
depending on experience

- Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting or related required
- MBA
or Master’s in Taxation preferred
- CPA or interest in pursuing
CPA preferred
- 2+ years' experience in Tax Accounting
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong organizational and
time management skills
- Strong communication and
presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to
work well independently while contributing collaboratively within a team
environment
