From the employer**Tax Accountant**
The Tax Accountant will focus on sales and use tax compliance for a banking client. This role ensures proper treatment of transactions, prepares returns, supports audits, and provides guidance to optimize tax processes using technology and best practices.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide sales tax treatment guidance in the Equipment Finance industry
- Ensure documentation meets Tax Department standards
- Support audits and internal compliance reviews
- Review and validate sales tax exemption certificates
- Recommend process improvements for sales and use tax compliance, including technology solutions
- Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns accurately
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 4–6 years of experience in sales and use tax, preferably multi-state compliance
- Experience with monthly sales tax compliance and return filing
- Sales tax code interpretation and research expertise
- Experience with Vertex Indirect Tax or similar software highly desirable
- Proficient with Alteryx, Excel, and general ledger reconciliation
- Equipment finance and relational database experience (Access, Hyperion, Tableau, MicroStrategy) a plus
