**Tax Accountant**

The Tax Accountant will focus on sales and use tax compliance for a banking client. This role ensures proper treatment of transactions, prepares returns, supports audits, and provides guidance to optimize tax processes using technology and best practices.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide sales tax treatment guidance in the Equipment Finance industry
  • Ensure documentation meets Tax Department standards
  • Support audits and internal compliance reviews
  • Review and validate sales tax exemption certificates
  • Recommend process improvements for sales and use tax compliance, including technology solutions
  • Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns accurately
  • Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 4–6 years of experience in sales and use tax, preferably multi-state compliance
  • Experience with monthly sales tax compliance and return filing
  • Sales tax code interpretation and research expertise
  • Experience with Vertex Indirect Tax or similar software highly desirable
  • Proficient with Alteryx, Excel, and general ledger reconciliation
  • Equipment finance and relational database experience (Access, Hyperion, Tableau, MicroStrategy) a plus
