Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Accountant to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing and lodging tax returns, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a professional environment that values efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Employment Type

Full-time | 40 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lodge tax returns, BAS, and other statutory reports.
  • Support end-of-month and end-of-year financial reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
  • Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with legislative changes.
  • Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies when necessary.
  • Provide support during internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.
  • Offer administrative and accounting assistance to the finance team as required.

Requirements

  • Essential (Must-Haves)
  • Proven working knowledge of accounting principles and tax compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Xero or MYOB.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Mandarin/Chinese-speaking candidate preferred to facilitate smoother communication with the team.
  • Experience working within Australian-based accounting or finance firms.
