From the employer

**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tax Analyst (Direct Tax) based in Brazil.**

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of corporate tax compliance, international taxation, and strategic tax advisory.

You will support tax activities across multiple jurisdictions, gaining exposure to complex cross-border matters and evolving global tax regulations.

The position combines hands-on compliance work with tax risk analysis, audits, planning, and collaboration with external advisors.

You will work closely with an International Tax Manager and stakeholders across a globally distributed organization.

The role is ideal for a detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys solving complex problems and staying ahead of regulatory developments.

You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in direct taxation, tax treaties, transfer pricing, and international tax initiatives.

The position is fully remote, with an asynchronous working environment designed to provide autonomy and flexibility.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the International Tax Manager in coordinating and controlling corporate tax compliance activities across entities and jurisdictions worldwide.
  • Work with external tax advisors to prepare and submit corporate tax returns, reports, supporting documentation, and tax payments.
  • Analyze corporate direct-tax matters, covering both routine compliance issues and more complex tax-planning topics.
  • Support the assessment and management of local and cross-border tax risks, including matters involving tax treaties and transfer pricing.
  • Help maintain sustainable tax compliance and appropriate documentation for entities operating across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support tax audits, inspections, and information requests from tax authorities around the world.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and international tax developments across EMEA, APAC, North America, Central America, and South America.
  • Stay informed about emerging developments such as OECD Pillars 1 and 2 and Digital Services Taxes, assessing their potential relevance to corporate tax compliance.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, tax advisors, and other partners involved in international tax matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field; a postgraduate or Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in corporate tax compliance, including corporate income taxes and withholding taxes on payroll and local or cross-border services.
  • Solid experience with direct taxation in both local and international contexts, including tax treaties and cross-border tax matters.
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing principles and their application to multinational operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive financial and tax information.
  • Ability to research and monitor changes in tax legislation and international tax developments.
  • Experience working with tax advisors or in a consulting environment is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions and jurisdictions.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Experience working in a fully remote or distributed environment is desirable, though not mandatory.
  • Proactive, curious, and adaptable mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote work, with the flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • Flexible working hours within an asynchronous work environment.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Budget for coworking spaces, learning, and wellness activities, including gym memberships.
  • Mental health support services.
  • Stock options.
  • Home office budget and IT equipment.
  • Global exposure to corporate tax compliance across multiple regions.
  • Mentorship from an International Tax Manager with opportunities to develop cross-border tax expertise.
  • Exposure to international tax developments, audits, risk analysis, and tax planning.
  • Competitive compensation approach based on role, level, location, experience, skills, and market conditions.
