**Location:** Hybrid opportunity based in Skokie, Illinois. Work in our office five days per week during your first 60 days for training and onboarding, then transition to a hybrid schedule working four days per week in the office.
**Note:** To be considered, you must have at least 1 year of substantive tax law experience, a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, an active bar license in any U.S. state (or be eligible to waive into Illinois), and litigation or law school moot court/mock trial experience. Candidates must be willing to relocate if they do not already live within commuting distance.

**Job Description**
- Handle federal and Illinois tax controversy matters, including IRS examinations, administrative appeals, and select collections cases.
- Develop case strategies and identify key legal and factual issues.
- Draft persuasive legal memoranda, appeals protests, Tax Court petitions, motions, briefs, and settlement communications.
- Represent clients before IRS examiners, Appeals Officers, and Tax Court when necessary.
- Advise clients on tax risks, controversy strategy, and practical legal solutions.
- Collaborate with accountants and other professionals to strengthen case development.
- Manage multiple active matters while maintaining exceptional organization and client communication.
- Stay current on federal and state tax law developments.
**Qualifications**
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction or eligible to waive into Illinois.
- 1+ year of substantive tax law experience in a law firm or accounting firm.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Litigation experience or law school moot court/mock trial experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work on-site during onboarding and hybrid thereafter.
