Position Summary

The Tax Consultant supports the Transaction Tax team by assisting in overpayment reviews, audit reviews, and filing refund claims with taxing jurisdictions. This role involves hands-on data analysis, tax research, and client interaction. The Tax Consultant builds foundational expertise in transaction tax compliance and consulting while contributing to project delivery and client service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in review preparation, including reconciliation to trial balance reports and other data analysis.

Gather and examine documentation such as invoices, purchase orders, and tax returns.

Retrieve source documentation from client systems.

Create schedules of invoices and supporting documents.

Research and enter data regarding tax exemptions.

Analyze tax questions and provide written responses.

Contact vendors for refund follow-up and clarification.

Support the compilation of client reports, refund claims, and training materials.

Travel to client locations as needed (approx. 5%).

Provide support to Senior Tax Consultants, Tax Managers, and Directors.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.

1–2 years of professional experience, preferably in transaction tax

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience in tax research and issue resolution preferred.

Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week

Travel: Less than 10%
