WHO YOU ARE

Metropolis is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical Tax

Intern to join our fast-paced and highly visible Tax Department. In this role,

you will get hands-on experience in a high-volume corporate environment that

processes over $22MM a month in Sales, Use, and Parking taxes, alongside complex

Partnership and Corporate Federal and State Tax Returns. The ideal candidate is

an aspiring accounting professional who is eager to learn, possesses strong

foundational tech skills, and thrives in a dynamic team setting.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist with gathering financial information and preparing monthly sales, use,

and parking tax returns; help set up structured workpapers for sales, use,

and income tax returns

  • Enter journal entries, assist in setting up and maintaining recurring

entries, and prepare monthly account reconciliations while researching

reconciling items

  • Support the team by compiling critical information and documents required for

sales/use and income tax audits

  • Gain valuable, real-world exposure to State and Federal corporate income tax

compliance

  • Collaborate with the broader finance team on various strategic projects and

initiatives as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Junior standing

preferred) with a minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of and experience using AI software tools to optimize workflows
  • Exceptional organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and a proactive

mindset

  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week (with flexibility up to

40 hours per week during normal business hours based on your class schedule)

When you join Metropolis, you'll join a team of world-class product leaders and

base pay for this position is $18.00 USD to $23.00 USD hourly. The actual base

pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate,

the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience,

distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other

professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of

employment. Base pay is one component of Metropolis' total compensation package,

which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a

401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance,
