Role description

From the employer

Job Summary: Modaxo is the people transportation software division of Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU). Modaxo acquires, strengthens, and grows software and technology companies enabling the daily movement of people.

Ours is a dynamic, evolving environment. In a ‘typical’ year, it would be reasonable to expect multiple Acquisitions; probably including at least 1 in a new jurisdiction; plus an organic growth initiative into a new geography; plus a legal or management re-structure within one of our Regions. Layer on top of this the changing tax legislative landscape and you quickly find a demanding and stimulating role.

We recognize the potential for Tax structure and strategy to add significant value in an acquisitive group. We are inclined to consider creative and complex approaches, where the returns outweigh the risks. The voice of this role will be clearly heard in the deal-planning phase.

Position Overview: We're seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing tax team. The successful candidate will be a technically strong Canadian tax professional who is ready to broaden their experience into US and international tax. This role provides exposure to cross-border M&A diligence and post-acquisition integration, making it an ideal platform for a CPA who wants to develop beyond purely domestic work.

Reporting to the Global Senior Tax Manager, you will sit at the centre of a high-activity tax function supporting an acquisitive multinational group. You will work closely with finance teams across multiple jurisdictions, manage external advisors, and gain hands-on involvement in live transactions. This role suits someone who possesses meticulous attention to detail, thrives on delivering results, excels at recommending solutions to complex tax challenges, and is comfortable working flexible hours within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, self-starting attitude are essential. Your exceptional organizational skills ensure nothing is overlooked. As a collaborative team player, you work seamlessly with others but can also drive projects to completion independently when necessary.

Job Description: Compensation Range Minimum Rate $ 100,000. 00 CAD Maximum Rate $ 120,000. 00 CAD This Job Posting is for a current vacancy within our organization.

Assist in tax research for complex tax issues and planning assignments incorporating tax laws of multiple North American and foreign jurisdictions. Interface with tax authorities, including assisting in the coordination of tax audits and preparation of responses.
