Seattle Search Group is working with a respected public accounting firm to identify a Tax Manager to support its expanding client base. The firm delivers comprehensive tax compliance and advisory services to individuals and middle-market businesses.

Position Summary

The Tax Manager will manage client engagements, oversee tax preparation and review, and provide planning and advisory services. This role works closely with partners and senior leadership while supervising staff and maintaining high service standards.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, organized, and experienced in client management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
  • Review federal, state, and local tax returns and estimates
  • Provide tax planning and advisory support to clients
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships and communication
  • Identify and resolve tax compliance and reporting issues
  • Conduct tax research and prepare technical analyses
  • Supervise and review work prepared by staff and seniors
  • Assist with engagement scheduling and workflow management
  • Support billing, budgeting, and project timelines
  • Stay current on tax law changes and best practices
  • Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (required)
  • Graduate degree in Taxation preferred

Experience

  • 5–7 years of public accounting tax experience
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns
  • Prior experience supervising staff preferred
  • Certifications
  • CPA required or in active pursuit
  • Skills and Competencies
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
  • Exposure to multi-state taxation preferred
  • Experience with tax preparation and research software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and client service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
