Position Overview
This role offers the opportunity to oversee complex tax engagements, mentor staff, support firm leadership, and advise clients on a full spectrum of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust and estate tax matters, all within a firm that values flexibility and career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on comprehensive tax matters across individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts/estates.
- Review engagement work to ensure compliance with firm quality control procedures.
- Manage multiple client engagements with timely communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Provide recommendations to partners and take action on technical, scheduling, and engagement issues.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver responsive, high-quality service.
- Conduct performance reviews and support staff development and training.
- Handle direct client billing and understand engagement economics.
- Participate in networking activities and build visibility in your industry specialization.
- Stay current with tax law changes and emerging trends.
- Support firm management in implementing policies, procedures, and team initiatives.
- Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficient in business taxation (C corporations, S corporations, partnerships).
- Experienced in individual taxation and advanced tax planning strategies.
- Skilled with multi-state and consolidated tax returns.
- Background in supervising and training staff preferred.
- Active CPA license required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong research skills and exceptional organization and multitasking ability.
- Highly motivated with ability to manage multiple engagements effectively.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master of Taxation preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of public accounting or related tax experience.
