Position Overview

This is a newly created, in-house role within Verition's Tax Department supporting the personal tax affairs of the firm's principals and their related trusts, estates, and personal investment entities. Working under the direct supervision of the Global Head of Tax, this position will oversee and review the compliance and planning work performed by the firm's external accounting firms, coordinate with estate-planning counsel, trustees, appraisers, and other advisers, and serve as the day-to-day steward of the principals' individual tax calendar.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and related entities. Assist in the implementation and ongoing administration of estate, gift, and trust planning strategies. Maintain books and records and prepare periodic financial statements for the principals, their trusts, and personal entities.

Serve as the primary liaison between the firm, external tax advisors, estate planning attorneys, and other professional advisors. Review federal, state, and local tax returns prepared by outside accounting firms for accuracy and completeness. Monitor tax law developments affecting high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and investment structures, and assist in evaluating planning opportunities.

Coordinate annual tax projections, estimated tax payments, and cash planning. Support gift tax reporting, trust distributions, basis planning, residency planning, charitable giving strategies, and wealth transfer initiatives. Assist with entity structuring and tax considerations related to investments and private transactions.

Maintain tax calendars, filing deadlines, and supporting documentation across multiple entities and jurisdictions. Participate in special projects involving family office operations, succession planning, and strategic tax initiatives. Develop and improve internal processes and controls related to tax reporting and document management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation; Master's in Taxation preferred. CPA license strongly preferred. 6–10 years of relevant

experience

in Private Client Services, High Net Worth Tax, Family Office, or a comparable practice. A mix of in-house and public accounting firm

experience

preferred. Direct familiarity with hedge fund / asset management flow-through pickup preferred. Strong technical knowledge of: Individual tax Estate, gift and GST tax Trust and fiduciary tax Investment partnership and S-corp tax Multi-state tax and PTET Strong technology

skills

including advanced Excel and a demonstrated aptitude for adopting new tools, comfortable using AI to improve the efficiency and quality of tax workflows.

Experience

coordinating with attorneys, trustees, and external advisors on sophisticated wealth planning matters. Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication

skills

with the discretion and professionalism required to work with senior executives and family members. Salary Range $150,000—$200,000 USD
