Role Purpose
Own direct tax topics end-to-end (income tax, WHT, IOF, CIDE), combining advisory, compliance, and, desirably, tax accounting. Partner closely with business and finance to ensure compliant and optimized tax outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear and practical tax advisory on transactions, contracts, and new business models
- Identify tax risks and optimization opportunities, recommending defensible positions
- Support tax planning, reorganizations, and transfer pricing initiatives
- Manage tax audits, inspections, and relationships with tax authorities
- Review and challenge external advisors, ensuring high-quality and consistent deliverables
- Monitor legislative changes and translate impacts into actionable business guidance
- Drive improvements in SAP/tax processes and reporting
- Support tax accounting and reporting (monthly close, provisions, forecasts, ETR) if needed
- Profile (What we are looking for)
- Strong experience in Brazilian direct taxes (IRPJ/CSLL and other corporate taxes)
- Background in tax advisory/consulting and compliance, including transactions and structuring
- Ability to connect tax positions with accounting impacts and clearly explain conclusions
- Proven experience with audits and managing external advisors
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP (desirable)
- Experience with tax accounting (current/deferred) and reporting (desirable)
- Solid skills in SAP and Excel
- Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, or related fields
- Mandatory Advanced/Fluent English (able to lead calls and business discussions)
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- High level of ownership, accountability, and integrity
- Hands-on, solution-oriented, and business-oriented approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively across tax, finance, legal, and business teams.
