  • Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and coordinates the clerical operations and activities of the Tax Department;
  • Recruits, trains, schedules, prioritizes and evaluates the work of employees in the class of Tax Specialist Assistant;
  • Works with the Treasurer and Cash Management Supervisor to develop employee expectations and office policies and procedures;
  • Confers with the Treasurer to determine administrative and technical support needs and services for the Tax Department;
  • Reviews state statutes ensuring that all relevant laws and regulations are followed in reconciling and processing Tax Department transactions and publishing legal notices.

***Education/Experience/Training:***

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field; **and**
  • Two (2) years’ experience with technical accounting, collections, home mortgages, land deeds or related occupational experience; **or**
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four (4) years.

***Desired:***

  • Previous experience working with tax collections, fee processing and distribution;
  • Previous supervisory and/or office management experience;
  • Strong computer and Microsoft office skills.

***Required:***

  • Must pass a criminal and driving background check.

***Certifications:***

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Montana;
  • Become bonded within first six (6) months of employment.
