**Ideal Candidate:**

  • Strong experience in managing direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory activities.
  • Expertise in tax assessments, audits, litigation support, GST compliance, and tax reporting.
  • Ability to drive tax planning, risk management, and compliance governance.
  • Experience in transfer pricing, tax structuring, and providing tax advisory support for business decisions.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations with the ability to assess impact and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders, external advisors, and guide tax teams effectively.

**Responsibilities:**

**Direct Tax Management**

  • Own and manage direct tax compliance activities, including corporate tax filings, advance tax computations, and tax-related reporting.
  • Manage income tax assessments, notices, audits, and litigation matters in coordination with external advisors, as required.
  • Provide tax advisory support on business transactions, investments, and operational decisions.
  • Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure timely resolution of tax disputes and closure of assessment proceedings.

**Indirect Tax Management**

  • Oversee GST and other indirect tax compliances across business operations.
  • Ensure timely filing of GST returns and other applicable indirect tax filings.
  • Manage indirect tax audits, assessments, notices, and departmental queries.
  • Provide guidance on indirect tax implications for business transactions and operational activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable indirect tax regulations and internal controls.

**Transfer Pricing & Tax Structuring**

  • Lead transfer pricing planning and compliance activities.
  • Develop appropriate transfer pricing structures for intercompany transactions.
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking studies, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide tax structuring support for business initiatives, cross-border transactions, and organizational changes.

**Tax Governance & Risk Management**

  • Establish robust tax processes, controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business.
  • Ensure effective tax risk management and timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.

**Reporting & Process Improvement**

  • Prepare tax MIS and management updates on compliance status, risks, and ongoing matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and automate compliance activities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit and regulatory requirements.

**Team Collaboration**

  • Guide and mentor tax team members in day-to-day tax activities.
  • Review deliverables and ensure accuracy and timely completion of tax compliances.
  • Build a culture of compliance, ownership, and continuous improvement.

**Qualifications**

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
  • 4–6 years of post-qualification experience in direct tax, indirect tax, taxation advisory, or corporate tax roles.
  • Strong expertise in direct and indirect tax regulations, tax assessments, litigations, and compliance management.
  • Experience in transfer pricing and tax structuring is preferred.

**Preferred Qualities:**

  • Strong understanding of tax regulations with an ability to assess business impact.
  • Proactive approach towards tax compliance, risk identification, and mitigation.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders including internal teams, auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.
  • Good communication and presentation skills for reporting and advisory support.
  • Ownership mindset with focus on timely execution and continuous process improvement.
