Job Responsibilities

  • Work with Contract Manufacturers and Engineering contacts to manage compliance requirements for new project builds from early stages until final retail goods are delivered
  • Ensure that all compliance requirements are in place for international shipments, including but not limited to Harmonized Tariff Schedule Classification, Country of Origin, Value, Certification or Uncertified Device approval.
  • Ensure that compliance documents, such as commercial invoice and packing list, follow guidance in place from Customs and from the client
  • Identify gaps in compliance processes and find solutions
  • Establish and monitor service providers’ performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s)
  • Support operational teams in various regions in communicating with Contract Manufacturers and

obtaining information and revised documents as needed.

  • Maintain compliance guidelines for Contract Manufacturers according to instructions from client
  • Support tracking and recall of Uncertified Devices imported under temporary allowance in certain countries
  • Assist with trademark authorization for certain imports upon request, according to written guidelines
  • Obtain entry documents from brokers upon request from client
  • Review entry errors and perform root cause analysis
  • Resolve shipment holds by obtaining information requested by customs brokers and providing clearance instructions
  • Develop and maintain customized compliance programs and processes specific to client need
  • Conduct audits to assess the export/import compliance of client and supporting operating entities Assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Gather and provide detailed analysis and information which may financially impact sourcing decisions
  • Identify cost savings opportunities from client data sources
  • Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiency/productivity

Education or Experiences

  • 2 Years of relevant experience in Trade Compliance operations, customs brokers, trade consulting, trade law or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in Chinese reading/writing and spoken Mandarin
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree
  • Program and project management experience preferred
  • Ability to formulate and present high level presentations and conduct trainings
