**The Role**

As a **US Nonprofit Tax Associate**, you will support a portfolio of tax-exempt organizations by preparing and reviewing IRS Form 990 series returns while ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. You'll work closely with experienced tax professionals to research tax matters, identify planning opportunities, and deliver accurate, timely tax filings that help nonprofit organizations meet their reporting obligations. Success in this role means consistently producing high-quality, review-ready tax returns, applying technical tax knowledge to client engagements, and becoming a trusted contributor throughout the tax compliance process.

**What You'll Do**

  • Preparation of all required non-profit 990 tax returns, including Form 990, 990-EZ, 990-N and 990-T forms and any related applicable state forms
  • Identifies tax credits and deductions available to non-profit organizations
  • Ensures client work is performed within time, scope, and budget
  • Manages engagement and client expectations, ensures satisfaction, and communicates upward to assigned Supervisor
  • Researches and reviews work papers for various book to tax differences
  • Ability to apply relevant tax law to particular clients and circumstances
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and applies tax planning concepts
  • Strong knowledge of tax codes, regulations, rulings, and case law
  • Review research findings, tax returns, and client tax work papers to ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
  • Understands and follows all firm policies, AICPA ethics rules, Circular 230, 6694, and other professional standards
  • Additional duties as assigned

**What We're Looking For**

  • Undergraduate degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Active CPA License required
  • 1-3 years of tax experience is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax code/rules and implications
  • Experience preparing returns and researching more complex tax issues
