Role description

From the employer

At LumiQ, we’re on a mission to make professional education enjoyable. As a

modern, audio-first learning platform, we empower accounting and finance

professionals to fulfill their continuing professional development requirements

through engaging podcasts. Over the past five years, we’ve cultivated a devoted

customer base of over 1,000 corporate and accounting firms across North

America.

LumiQ is proud to be a 2025 Deloitte Fast 50 winner. We’re creating awesome

proprietary content, nailing our go-to-market strategy, and being the first to

shake up the industry. Most recently, we secured a strategic investment

from Vertu Capital to fuel our expansion globally and continue executing on our

exponential growth plans.

LumiQ is also a certified Great Place to Work! We’re all about transparency,

ownership, innovation, and empathy. If you’re ready to make a real impact and

help us transform professional education, we’d love to hear from you!

We are looking for a Tax Producer to help us disrupt the professional education

industry and create the world’s best CPD content!

This is a unique opportunity to use your accounting designation in a creative

way, provide value to the CPA community, and be part of a fast-paced growing

company.

This role is a unique blend of education, content creation, and accounting

knowledge, and provides a great opportunity to grow your professional network

and brand within the CPA community.

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Education, the Tax Producer will be

responsible for executing on the Canadian and U.S. tax content learning

curriculum, finding appropriate guests for each topic, conducting research, and

ensuring an educational and enjoyable finished podcast. You’ll learn how to

create a podcast from scratch, from pre-production all the way to a polished

finished product (don’t worry, prior production experience is not necessary!).

Location: Remote USA based in NY, FL, SC, IL, MT or Canada

Who You Are

  • You have a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of U.S. tax experience, ideally in public accounting. Experience

can include any of the following: C corps, flow throughs,

individual/estate/trust/gift

  • Tax enthusiast: You are comfortable explaining tax in an easy to digest way.

If you don’t know it—you can research and learn it quickly. You don’t need to

be an expert in every topic, but instead be able to synthesize the expertise

of our guests to create something accurate and uniquely interesting in

professional learning.

  • Critical thinker: You enjoy being able to use your judgment to decide which

tax topics we should tackle, and the best way to present the information.

  • Collaboration and prioritization come easily to you: This role will require

balancing multiple stakeholders, schedules, and team members and input. You

will work closely with LumiQ hosts, to build each episode collaboratively.

  • Organized and detail-oriented: Because this role has multiple podcasts on the

go at any given time, you’ve developed processes and strategies to stay

extremely organized. You see updating the project management tracker as a key

to success rather than an annoying administrative duty. When it comes to the

accuracy of the content you will be creating, you are confident in your

abilities to ensure everything is factual, while being digestible and

enjoyable at the same time.

  • Proactive: You do not sit around, waiting to be told what to do. You are

great at anticipating problems before they happen and love to suggest ideas

on how to make things better.

If you think your experience is most of the way there we’d still love to meet

you!

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • As with any growing company, you’ll wear many hats. Your core responsibilities

include

  • Content Development
  • Researching and pitching tax topics aligned with LumiQ’s roadmap
  • Scoping episodes intentionally to balance depth, clarity, and audience

relevance

  • Identifying, outreach to, and coordinating subject matter experts
  • Creating interview prep materials and foundational research

Hosting & Production

  • Hosting interviews with senior accounting and finance professionals
  • Guiding conversations to ensure they are educational, engaging, and practical
  • Reviewing raw audio and making content-level edits
  • Writing episode copy, including descriptions, quiz questions, glossary terms,

and visual aids

This role requires comfort experimenting with new processes, providing feedback,

and operating in a fast-evolving environment.
