VAT Analyst
Role description
From the employerWe are seeking a VAT Analyst for a partner operating in the healthcare technology sector. As a VAT Analyst, your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing VAT-related data, preparing VAT/GST returns and related statistical filings, completing reconciliations, and collaborating with business and finance stakeholders. ? What you can expect in the role - Prepare and analyze periodic VAT returns, including monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly filings - Prepare VAT-related statistical and supplementary filings, such as Intrastat and other local reports - Ensure compliance with country-specific rules and obligations, meeting deadlines for all reports - Perform detailed VAT to general ledger reconciliations and sales to VAT reconciliations - Investigate variances, follow up on incorrect accounts receivable and accounts payable entries, and coordinate corrective actions - Interact with business stakeholders - Support internal and external VAT audits, information requests, and compliance reviews - Respond to day-to-day VAT queries and collaborate with Tax, Controllership, Customs, and other functions - Contribute to standardization, process documentation, continuous improvement, and automation initiatives within the EMEA VAT team
Requirements

What you should bring - Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Economics, Business, or a related field - Professional proficiency in written and spoken English - Good understanding of core VAT principles and an interest in developing knowledge of EMEA VAT compliance - Solid accounting knowledge, including an understanding of general ledger postings and reconciliations - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with large data sets - Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills - Ability to organize priorities, manage recurring deadlines, and communicate clearly with stakeholders - Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach in a changing international environment ⭐ Nice to have - Previous experience in VAT compliance, indirect tax, accounting, or finance operations - Experience in a multinational company, tax advisory, or accounting firm - Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle - Experience with reporting, data analytics, or automation tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or Power Automate - Additional European language skills are an advantage
