Job Summary
We are seeking a Transfer Pricing Economist Manager to join our Tax team. In
this role, you will lead strategic transfer pricing analysis, global compliance,
and process automation initiatives. You will be a key player in supporting tax
planning and global controversy matters within a fast-paced, collaborative, and
high-performing environment. This position requires in-depth expertise in
transfer pricing rules, a strong foundation in economic analysis, and the
ability to monitor and adapt to global tax law developments.
This position is based in Santa Clara and reports to the Head of Global TP based
in Santa Clara, and will continuously collaborate closely with the worldwide tax
team. The Transfer Pricing Economist Manager will have in-depth expertise in
transfer pricing rules and requirements, demonstrate knowledge of relevant tax
rules and related application of economic analysis, and will monitor tax law and
economic developments globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic transfer pricing analysis for M&A activities, including IP
valuations and supply chain restructuring.
- Manage the end-to-end global transfer pricing documentation and compliance
cycle to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Support financial reporting by reviewing financial statements for transfer
pricing implications and monitoring the execution of TP policies.
- Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams, including legal,
finance, and accounting, to support business needs and advise on special
projects.
- Assist with global expansion by researching local country transfer pricing
requirements and analyzing the tax consequences of entering new
jurisdictions.
- Proactively identify transfer pricing issues, develop effective strategies,
and contribute to the design of automated tools to drive process
improvements.
- Prepare robust analyses and responses for transfer pricing topics during
local country tax audits and provide support for Advance Pricing Agreement
(APA) filings.
- Define criteria for, execute, and analyze benchmarking studies to identify
valid comparable companies for our transfer pricing analyses.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Tax Law, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive transfer pricing experience, gained in public
accounting and/or a multinational corporate environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of international transfer pricing principles and
regulations.
- Demonstrated experience working with benchmarking tools and data to set
requirements and analyze results.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software (Excel, Google Sheets) for complex data
analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Economics, Tax, or a related discipline.
- Experience with financial systems and data analysis tools such as SAP
(S/4HANA, PaPM), Alteryx, or Access.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet
deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain
complex transfer pricing concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications,
experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted
level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary +
commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual
range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock
