Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The purpose of this role is to provide supervision, direction, and coordination of tax accounting and reporting activities, focusing on ensuring obligations are met for all applicable taxes in different jurisdictions.

The role

involves overseeing the tax accounting process and managing tax planning strategy while ensuring efficient management of team and providing expertise on tax accounting to ensure overall tax compliance. Responsibilities: Manage a team through consistent application of performance and operations management strategies. Supervise the Tax Accounting team to deliver a compliant Tax accounting process and system across the Division.

Supervise others in completing process tasks and review the accuracy of inputs to the relevant tax balances. Ensure policies are managed within delegated authorities and refer/escalate where appropriate. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.

Act as reviewer role on various tax and/or prepare roles on highly complex/urgent tasks. Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve tax reporting, tax control and any tax-related matter in the course of the service delivery. Ensure that all processes conducted are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion.

Close coordination with various business units for documents/information needed to complete the reports/operational compliance. Provide visible leadership, effective communication, feedback to the team and ensure training and knowledge are up to date.

Experience

includes: Some relevant work experience. Preferred Work

Experience

includes: Tax accounting experience.

Experience

in the insurance or financial sector.

Experience

in BPO industry with shifting schedules. Proven track record of taking active accountability for own workload. Qualifications: Necessary

Qualifications

include: Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Certifications as an accountant, tax or finance professional. Travel Frequency: Occasional (approximately 5-10 trips annually) US Only - Physical Demands: General office jobs: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 lbs.
