The main rate of Corporation Tax in the UK is 25% for profits over £250,000, with a small profits rate of 19% for profits up to £50,000, and marginal relief in between. Companies must file a Company Tax Return (CT600) with HMRC annually, typically within 12 months after the end of the accounting period. Payments are generally due nine months and one day after the end of the accounting period for small companies, or in quarterly instalments for large companies.
